4Charities 2022 Annual Report

The year was a welcome change from the previous two years as we were able to resume our fund raising activities.

We held a total of seven Soup and Scrabble lunches. a Summer lunch and a Tea Party and raised a total of £1,665 which was distributed to the four charities that the group support.

We finished up the year with a balance of £360 which will be distributed when sufficient funds have been raised to make a further meaningful contribution to each of the charities.

The Soup & Scrabble lunches proved very popular and we have now added ‘other Games’ to the event so as to encourage those who don’t want to play Scrabble the opportunity of coming and meeting up with others.

The Summer lunch was very well attended and the speaker was Father Edward Backhouse who is on the board of the Papua New Guinea Church Partnership.

The Tea Party held on a glorious afternoon at Chitcombe was another event that was very well attended with everyone being very generous with donations.

We continue to be hugely grateful to all those who attend the functions, who donate so generously and to all who support us with their time and contribution.

Plans for 2023 include the monthly Soup, Scrabble and other Games (which is held on the first Friday of the month), a Spring lunch with a presentation about Freedom from Fistula, a Sponsored Walk and an Autumn event.  Details will be posted on the 4Charities web site - www.4charities.net - after they become firm.
